Beefuture

Sustainable nature conservation

Surrounded by lots of flowers, bushes and shrubs, the company's own garden has recently been buzzing and humming wildly.

From one day to the next, we counted up to 50,000 additional employees - In cooperation with beefuture, we were allowed to adopt our own bee colony and place it in our garden.

Our goal is to contribute to active and sustainable environmental protection and thus counteract the dying of bees in Germany!

Why are bees so important?

  • They are the supporting pillar of our ecosystem
  • More than 80% of native flowering plants depend on their pollination
  • No technology in the world can replace them
  • The bee is the third most important farm animal

Interesting facts about bees:

  • The lifetime of a worker bee is about 20 days to 6 months
  • A queen bee can live 3 to 5 years
  • In order to fill a honey jar, about five million flowers must be visited by the bees

Bienensterben:

  • Since 1950, the worldwide bee population has decreased by more than half (From about 2 million bee colonies to 800,000 bee colonies)
  • More than 80% of the honey needed in Germany is imported

"Once the bee disappears from the earth, man has only four years to live. No more bees, no more pollination, no more plants, no more animals, no more man" - Albert Einstein.

How can you also help the bees?

  • Adopt a bee colony if possible
  • Sow bee friendly plants
  • Preferably choose honey from the region
  • Avoid pesticides
  • Choose seasonal food from regional agriculture (where pesticides are not used)
